Lex Amor, a rapper from north London, is gaining attention with her thoughtful lyricism and social commentary.
Her distinctive, nonchalant rap style has earned her praise from Trench, Pitchfork, GRM Daily and Mixmag, and lead to a performance for German online music platform COLORS, which aims to showcase ‘exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on the most distinctive new artists and original sounds’. Her debut mixtape, Government Tropicana, was released independently in September last year, and has been described by Amor as ‘the culmination of a lot of years of figuring things out… All of it was made off of love, friendships, connections, and grit’. 2021 will see Amor perform at Cross The Tracks Festival in September, alongside Lianne La Havas, En Vogue, Sister Sledge and Greentea Peng.
